About the Role
As Unit Manager for Permits & Licensing, you will play a key role in building New Nuclear Support and in the permitting processes that enable new nuclear power in Sweden. You will lead an experienced team of specialists and be responsible for complex assessments that create the prerequisites for projects to take decisive steps forward.
New Nuclear Support (NNS) is a new department within VPS with the mission to support Vattenfall's investment in new nuclear power. Following the reorganization (effective April 1), we are now building three units – and you will be one of the managers shaping the whole from the start.
As Unit Manager for Permits & Licensing, you will lead the unit within New Nuclear Support responsible for securing the necessary permits for new nuclear power. You will work in close collaboration with the project organization, internal and external stakeholders, and authorities, contributing to clarity, progress, and quality in complex permitting processes. The unit currently consists of 11 employees stationed at various locations on both the west and east coasts.
Your Responsibilities
- Responsible for personnel, work environment, and budget
- Build and ensure competence and delivery capability
- Actively participate in the department's strategic work
- Develop working methods and collaboration with other units within Vattenfall
- Work closely with Videberg Kraft AB and other stakeholders
- Ensure strategic competence and method development within permitting and licensing work
Requirements
We are looking for someone who has
- Several years of management experience or equivalent
- A Master of Science in Engineering degree or equivalent experience
- The ability to lead senior specialists
- Extensive knowledge of permit assessments according to the Environmental Code and Nuclear Activities Act (KTL)
- Very good skills in Swedish and English
- Class B driver's license

Location is preferably Ringhals, Gothenburg, or Solna. International and domestic travel occurs, but we actively work with technical aids to minimize this.
